Join me on Zoom during the month of November to write microfiction before work. 💖

Are you ready to jumpstart your creativity?

Writing something short, first thing in the morning, can help you feel accomplished and prime your brain for future creative endeavors the rest of the day.

Use this challenge as a fun time to relax and remember why you enjoy writing in the first place. Or, if you’ve never written fiction before, use this as your sign to start now and give it a try.

At the end of this challenge, you will have completed twelve short pieces of fiction.

If you want to take it a step further, microfiction is a versatile medium. You can edit the pieces and use them as marketing content for social media, a newsletter, or blog. You can submit them to microfiction (or flash fiction) writing contests. You can turn them into a longer short story (or even a full-fledged novel).

✦ What is microfiction?

Microfiction is an extremely short story between 50–300 words in length.

✦ How the challenge works:

➔ We’ll meet Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 7:30am central on my private Zoom channel* to write anywhere between 50–300 words of microfiction.

➔ Each session will last 30 minutes and include an optional story prompt.

➔ I’ll give you the prompt, we’ll set a timer for 15 minutes, and start writing. When the timer goes off, we’ll chat about how the session went.

*I’ll mute everyone in the zoom call initially, but open it up for discussion after our designated writing time. You are welcome to turn your video on or off as desired.

➔ 12 sessions total (30 mins. each) | 4 weeks

➔ End Date: Wednesday, November 27th
